Operational Manager Continence, Leg Ulcer and Telehealth Service at South Petherton Communtiy Hospital
Catherine Weller is Operational Manager for Continence, Leg Ulcer and Telehealth Services at Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Catherine undertook her nurse training in Oxford and entered the field of Urology following qualification.
In 1995 Catherine secured the position of Continence Advisor with West Hertfordshire PCT and has remained in the field, moving to Somerset in 2003 as Continence Nurse Specialist and then Service Manager.
Since 2008, Catherine has taken on the management of additional community services including the CFS/ME Service and Ambulatory Care Service. Catherine currently manages the Leg Ulcer and Telehealth Service along side Service Lead/ Manager for the Continence Service.
It was the work with the Ambulatory Care Service that led to Catherine and Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust being awarded 2015/2016 National Continence Care Award “Commissioning for High Quality Continence Care” for work in relation to routine and emergency catheter changes in Ambulatory Care Clinics.
Catherine has also received recognition for her work in relation to Continence Care Pathway for Stroke, Reaching and Engaging the Public through Community Pharmacies and Advice and Guidance for Continence.
Catherine is about to embark on a piece of work looking at the possible role of CBT in relation to providing continence advice.
Catherine lives in South Somerset with her husband and two sons and enjoys running and country walks.
