Clinical Lead, Health Influencing at Age UK

Lesley Carter is a registered nurse and Clinical Lead, Health Influencing at Age UK.

Her background is in nursing; she has clinically led acute mental health, criminal justice and older people services. Starting out as a registered nurse, she went on to become a Director of Nursing and a Trust Board Member, providing strategic, operational and clinical leadership.

Lesley has a real interest in change management and practice development. Posts have seen her leading service transformation and redesign at The London Development Centre, The Kings Fund, The Care Services Improvement Partnership, Commissioning Support for London and NHS London. She was the Registered and Commissioning Manager for a new build specialist dementia nursing home.

At Age UK, she leads on health influencing work with professionals and practice. Lesley is also Programme Lead for the Malnutrition Task Force.
